Purpose
F5 is a rapidly growing global IT infrastructure company. The EMEA HR team are responsible for all HR functions and as the business is in a massive growth period, with requirements constantly changing, this presented a challenging time for the team.

With the pressure of the modern day workplace increasing and trying to juggle increasing amounts of work, the HR Director wanted to develop a team day that essentially bound the team closer together and prepare them for the workload ahead by:

  • Creating a unified team that has a culture of collaboration and support.
  • Establishing a clear vision and set of values for the team, leading to a prioritised action plan for the future.
  • Recognising each individual’s contribution to the team and celebrating success.

Solution
We developed an in-depth questionnaire to assess each individual in the team. This data allowed us to tailor the development day and also provide a clear return on investment using statistical data.

The team development day investigated the team’s individual and collective values and beliefs and the impact these had on team behaviour. The team created an agreed set of team values which provided a sense of shared responsibility about how the team should be.

The team also identified their individual and collective strengths which helped them to recognise and respect each person’s talents. It also enabled them to play to their strengths as a team.

The team also reflected on their successes and identified a clear action plan of how to maintain and publicise these to the wider business. As well as created clear steps to develop the team’s future.

Outcome
The way the team deal with pressure and workload has changed. They now happily ask each other for help and share ideas and requests.

Our post course findings confirmed that the team work better together now and respect each other’s abilities. They are also taking time out to spend time together as a team and think about what they need to do in order to keep progressing forward in the future.
